The Eagles have announced the signing off free agent fullback Lenoard Weaver. Yet again, the Eagles enticed a free agent to sign a one-year deal. The contract has a reported maximum value of 2.5 million. I think this is a great pick up for the Eagles as it finally gives them a true fullback. Weaver has proven he can run, block, and catch the ball out of the backfield

Read what I wrote about Weaver last week here.

Currently the Eagles are in conversation with fullback Leonard Weaver. At 6′ 242 pounds, Weaver has spent three seasons for the Seattle Seahawks. In 2005, he was the lead blocker for NFL MVP Shaun Alexander. Being only 26 years old, Weaver still has a lot of tread left on the tires. In his career, he has proven that he can run, block, and catch the ball.

He would be a perfect addition for the Eagles as he has experience in the west coast offense. Not only that but he would be replacing a defensive tackle turned fullback. Weaver could really help the Eagles gain more success on those 3rd and short situations they struggled with so much last year.
